Slide and Swing Windows (Panoramic Views)
A slide and swing window gives you control over the unobstructed view and ventilation. Each glass panel travels along a track, swings open at the side and rotates up to 180 degrees. Moving the panels aside creates a wider and less obstructed opening.
It suits homeowners who value panoramic views, airflow and easier glass cleaning. ZGH Aluminium customises the panel layout, colours and glass specification. As a BCA Approved Window Contractor listed with HDB, we assess your space and manage the required replacement process.
What Is a Slide and Swing Window?
A slide and swing window combines the movement of sliding windows with the wide opening of casement windows. Instead of overlapping in the frame, the panels can slide on a track, pivot up to 180 degrees, and stack neatly to one side.
Open selected panels for everyday airflow or move them all aside for a wider view and stronger ventilation.
How Does a Slide and Swing Window Operate?
Unlock each panel, slide it along the guided track and swing it outwards at the stacking end. Panels can stack on the left, right or both sides.
Each panel can rotate up to 180 degrees, making both glass surfaces easier to clean from indoors. After installation, our installers will demonstrate the correct operating and locking sequence.
Benefits of Slide and Swing Windows
- Wide unobstructed views: Move the panels towards the side to reduce the frames blocking your view.
- Better ventilation: Open selected panels for controlled airflow or move every panel aside for a larger opening.
- Easier cleaning: Rotating panels make the external glass surface easier to reach and clean from inside.
- Modern appearance: Substantial presence of thick aluminum frames yields a clean, refined design.
Key Features Compared with Other Window Types
A slide and swing window combines the practical strengths of sliding and casement windows. Traditional sliding windows stay within the frame and overlap, so about one-third of the opening stays blocked. This is dependent on the panel layout.
Casement windows open widely, but each panel remains attached at a fixed hinge position. It cannot slide and stack with the other panels at one end.
With an innovative slide and swing system, every panel can slide and swing. Moving the panels aside creates a broader opening, unobstructed view and better ventilation. The glass is also easier to clean.
Where Is Suitable to Install Slide and Swing Window?
- Living rooms: Create a wider view and brighter-feeling common area.
- Balconies: Connect indoor and balcony spaces when the panels are open.
- Service yards: Improve airflow and simplify cleaning.
- Bedrooms: Control ventilation by opening only the panels needed.
As a slide and swing window contractor, ZGH Aluminium can measure, customise, and install systems for these areas. This is subject to property requirements.

Newer flats generally cannot change to this design if it alters the approved facade. ZGH Aluminium is a BCA Approved Window Contractor listed with HDB under HB-05-5616Z. We assess suitability and handle permit submission.
- Condominiums: Owners should obtain written MCST approval because windows affect the external appearance.

Slide and Swing Windows FAQs
Can I replace my existing windows with slide and swing windows?
It depends on your property type, existing opening and building requirements. Older or resale HDB flats are suitable. Newer flats must usually keep a similar window colour, size, and type.
Condominium owners should obtain MCST approval, while landed homes usually offer greater flexibility to install. ZGH Aluminium will conduct an onsite assessment before confirming installation. Contact us and we will advise accordingly.
How much does a slide and swing window cost?
The price depends on the window dimensions, number of panels, aluminium finish, glass option and hardware. The quotation also include dismantling and disposal of existing windows, installation and HDB permit submission. Contact ZGH Aluminium for an onsite measurement and accurate quotation.
Are slide and swing windows easy to clean and maintain?
Yes. Each panel can swing inwards and rotate, making both sides of the glass easier to clean from inside your home. Routine maintenance involves keeping the tracks, rollers and seals free from dust and debris.
